When you outfit a Roots or screw-style supercharger, the speed at which the blower spins relative to the engine is controlled by the drive pulleys. Swapping pulley sizes changes this drive ratio, so you can tune how much boost the blower delivers. That makes pulleys the common component replaced during installation, to fit the kit and dial in the desired boost. The intake manifold, intercooler, and air filter aren’t universally required changes for all installations; they may appear in some setups, but they aren’t the typical swap that defines the installation process.
